FedEx at Indianapolis Airport

Kienlen Constructors recently completed a major truss reinforcing project for FedEx at the Indianapolis Airport.  With the help of Hillsdale Fabricators, the team was able to finish this project safely and ahead of schedule.  As a subcontractor to BGA Builders, an Alberici Joint Venture, nearly 300 WT’s were installed by Kienlen Ironworkers to provide support for new conveyor equipment being installed above.  The WT’s weighed up to 4200 pounds and nearly 38,000 feet of welds were installed to finish up this project.

As the truss reinforcing project recently came to a close, a new bar joist reinforcing project is starting up for FedEx at the Indianopolis Airport.  Some of the key Kienlen Constructors Ironworkers are General Foreman Joe Elliott, Shannon Cross, Logan Brodak and Terry Wright.  The majority of the work will take place on the weekends to avoid conflicting with FedEx operations.  Over 360 bar joists will need to be reinforced, many in hard to reach places over existing equipment, and some with 145 individual pieces to be installed.
