St. Louis Flood Gate Rehabilitation

Kienlen Constructors was selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the St. Louis Flood Gate Rehabilitation Project. The Kienlen team was responsible for installing new flood gates and permanent closure structures to protect the riverfront against flooding from the Mississippi River. Self-performing nearly the entire project, Kienlen’s scope of work included demolition of 32 existing flood gates, installation of 22 new gates, and permanent, cast-in-place concrete closures of 10 gates. Using our nearby river yard, the newly fabricated replacement gates were shipped the project via barge.
